MusicPlayers.com Editor in Chief to Host Free Guitar Rig Building Clinic at Guitar Con

April 10, 2011 Wyckoff, NJ

MusicPlayers.com Editor in Chief, Scott Kahn, will present a free learning clinic at the Guitar Con convention taking place this Saturday, April 14, at Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey.
Taking a hands-on approach, and accompanied by MusicPlayers.com senior guitar editor, Derek Davodowich, Scott will demonstrate multiple guitar rigs from the compact to the complex, explain how switching systems and line mixers are utilized, and show how easy it is to configure complex rigs with the right MIDI foot controller.

“It’s fun to be taking my book on the road, so to speak,” explains Kahn, author of the Hal-Leonard title, Modern Guitar Rigs: The Tone Fanatic’s Guide to Integrating Amps & Effects. “Most musicians never get to see professional guitar rigs up close and have a guided walk-through explaining their operation, so showing off the equipment at Guitar Con seemed like a great way to bring the rigs to the people.” In addition to discussing the building of professional guitar rigs, Kahn will be signing limited copies of his book available for sale at the event.

Kahn, Davodowich, and other members of the MusicPlayers.com team will be on hand to meet guitar players and to give away t-shirts and other fun prizes, as well as to talk about building guitar rigs with players seeking more information on the subject.
