The Year Comes To An End

It’s pretty tough finding a good drummer these days. Not only do they have to have the right skill level for your band or project, they also have to really like the music you’re working on. Lucky for me, the day just prior to Thanksgiving, I met the most beautiful drummer to eventually play with me – but she’ll require a few years of training before she’s ready to play with her Daddy! I suppose the lack of sleep I'm facing means that I’ll be awake more hours to work on publishing our magazine, right?

Next month is (of course) NAMM time, when the music industry en masse makes the annual pilgrimage to Anaheim, California to pray for exciting new music gear, or at least to find out what new products are coming out in 2007. At last year’s show, we didn’t find many revolutionary products – it was more evolutionary over all. We were just introducing to the industry in advance of our official launch in March. Most of our editors will be in attendance this year, so if you spot anyone wearing a badge or t-shirt, be sure to stop us and say hello.

Thanks for your ongoing support. We have a lot of new content planned for next year, and of course continued attention paid to the latest gear that pros care about. Have a great holiday season. May the gift-giving people in your lives shower you with expensive musical instruments, and if not, just remember that no gift says “I Love You” better than the boutique gear or custom-shop instrument you purchase for yourself during a great end-of-year sale!
