Los Angeles CA, May 31, 2017 — The 2017 Recording Industry Golf Tournament™ (RIGT), which will be held Monday, June 5, 2017, at Sand Canyon Country Club in Santa Clarita, CA, has an exciting additional option this year – a Texas hold ‘em poker tournament alongside legendary producer/engineer (and the event’s honorary co-chair) Al Schmitt. The poker showdown begins at 1:00 p.m. and ends at the close of the golf tournament (poker participation also includes dinner at day’s end). A 20-minute tutorial will review the rules for those who need a refresher. Trophies will go to the top three players – the top player will also win a $500 VISA gift card. Spots at the table are still available; to sign up for poker, please call event organizer Karen Dunn directly at at 925-708-0307.
A 20+-time GRAMMY® Award winner, Al Schmitt has led a career working with dozens of top-selling artists – among them Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Quincy Jones, Henry Mancini and countless others. Come participate in the RIGT and share a poker table with one of music’s living legends.
The RIGT is again being organized by seasoned event producer Karen Dunn of KMD Productions, LLC and will support the music program at A Place Called Home, a dynamic community center and safe haven in South Central Los Angeles where underserved youth 8-21 years old are empowered to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives through programs in education, arts, and well-being. Recording veteran Ed Cherney – who will be busy out on the links – is Honorary Co-Chair for the afternoon’s festivities alongside Al Schmitt.
Visit https://2017rigt.eventbrite.com to register as a golfer or event sponsor. For those who are not interested in playing golf or poker but don’t want to miss the hang, Dinner-Only tickets are available for $60.
