NEW YORK (July 12, 2017) – As acclaim mounts for their debut album, Bad Old World (Readout Records), Triple A Radio is getting a full taste of HONEY WEST, the New York guitar-rock band featuring "odd couple" songwriter team of Foreigner and King Crimson co-founder Ian McDonald and Shakespearean thespian Ted Zurkowski of The Actors Studio. Impact date is Monday, July 17.

“Dementia,” the “infectious” (ABC News Radio) self-deprecating 1st single drawing comparisons to revered British pub rockers Rockpile, is the focus track being serviced to commercial Triple A stations, while the full album, called “truly perfect” by Short & Sweet LA & NYC, heads to Non-Comm radio. “Dementia” is a tightly wound, foot-stomping, Saturday-night rocker highlighted by multi-instrumentalist McDonald’s baritone sax – which originally left a memorable imprint on T. Rex’s iconic “Get It On (Bang A Gong)” – and a perfect portal into the off-kilter world of HONEY WEST, so named after the groundbreaking 1960s TV series about a sexy female secret agent.

Billboard.com, in its exclusive premiere of the groundbreaking lyric video for “Dementia,” said, “It merits some attention when Ian McDonald gets excited about something.” Indeed, as a British rock titan who has figured prominently on four of the biggest-selling albums of the 10-year period from 1969 through 1979, encompassing two completely different rock genres, McDonald consistently tells interviewers Bad Old World is “some of the best work I’ve done in ages, and maybe ever.”

Bad Old World also has earned notice from Parade.com, Huffington Post, Modern Drummer, M Music & Musicians, Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Digital First Media, Premiere Radio Networks, and Fireworks Magazine (UK), among others. Goldmine is scheduled to publish a spotlight feature/album review package, as well.

Vintage Rock called Bad Old World a 12-song gem of wry lyrics, live sounding rollicking, and right-in-the-pocket production” and a lively record from artists who sure know how to bring fun and smarts to rock and roll." Sea of Tranquility, in its four-star review, declared the album “unashamedly good fun [and] classy.”

The high concept lyric video was conceived and directed by Ian’s son, Maxwell McDonald, already his father’s first-time bandmate as Honey West’s bass player

Aiding and abetting McDonald and Zurkowski on Bad Old World is a troupe of top-shelf musicians including drummer Steve Holley, whose credits include, among other notables, Paul McCartney & Wings. The album also boasts a special guest appearance by Graham Maby (Joe Jackson, They Might Be Giants), who plays bass on several tracks. HONEY WEST’s full-time bassist is McDonald’s son, Maxwell McDonald, and on drums, Tom Curiano (Garland Jeffreys).

Bad Old World is available for download at all major online destinations, also accessible through the band’s official website, HoneyWestMusic.com.
