Badlands Guitar Company today announces the release of its fourth limited-run electric guitar, the Badlands GX1 Hellcat.
The GX1 Hellcat marks Badlands Guitar Company’s most ambitious custom graphic to date. A two-tone metallic bronze to pearl white fade is adorned with painted leopard spots to create one of the most popular and visually intriguing finishes, inspired by the ‘80s hard rock aesthetic. A rolled ebony fretboard and special “cat’s eyes” inlay complement this unique, finely crafted instrument.
The GX1 Hellcat also features a new pickup and electronics suite for tonal versatility in an ultra sleek package. The Hellcat features three of BGCs custom-designed, USA-made pickups. Two M81 single-coils occupy the neck and middle positions and are custom-made to specifically complement the biting, aggressive sound of BGC’s popular M89 bridge humbucker. A 250k/500k combination volume pot is installed to optimize the frequency response of the single coil and humbucking pickups. A five-way rotary selector switch, a popular option on many custom shop instruments in the ‘80s and a new feature for BGC, gives the Hellcat more switching options over previous limited runs.
The GX-1 Hellcat will be produced in a limited run of 25. The first five instruments in the run will be ready for delivery before the end of 2024, with the remainder of the run following in Spring 2025. Orders will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Badlands Guitar Company’s mission is to elevate hard rock guitar design and produce custom-shop quality, era-correct instruments at accessible prices, offering every customer a taste of the ‘80s hard rock guitar hero experience. Every component of a Badlands instrument, from the tip of the headstock to the rear strap button, is carefully selected for quality and true-to-era accuracy.
