Córdoba Abasi Stage 7 Solidbody Nylon-String Electric Guitar Presents The Future of Nylon-String Guitar—Now!
CALABASAS, Calif., September 1, 2026 — Córdoba® Guitars today announced that the Abasi® Stage 7 Series is now shipping. The Abasi Stage 7 merges Córdoba’s solidbody nylon-string guitar concept and Stage pickup system with the Larada® ergonomic platform designed with Abasi Concepts.

“Tosin Abasi had been using our Stage model to get great nylon-string tone on loud stages, but he had a vision of something a bit different," said Michael Fischer, Córdoba Guitar Project Engineer. "The fusion of the Stage architecture and special Fishman pickup with the ergonomics, fanned frets, and extended range of the Larada was an enticing combination."
"When we develop a new instrument, the goal is always for it to have a clear reason to exist,” said Tosin Abasi. “With the Stage 7, we saw an opportunity to create something genuinely different—an extended-range acoustic-electric that can perform on loud stages without the feedback limitations of a traditional nylon-string guitar while offering extreme upper-fret access, extended range, and a compact, ergonomic design. It opens the door for players to bring nylon-string textures into musical contexts where that might otherwise have been difficult to do.”
Abasi Stage 7 guitars feature extensively chambered mahogany bodies fitted with custom internal bracing that increases low-end response. They also sport Córdoba’s Exotic Top design, in which an ultra-thin premium exotic wood veneer is applied to a solid spruce top, providing the ideal balance of tone and beauty. Ziricote, White Burst, and Acacia finishes are available.

Additional features include an oval sound hole on the side of the instrument, a mahogany flat C Shape set neck with a rosewood fingerboard, black top purfling, a Fusion Fan headstock with a rosewood overlay and inlaid Córdoba and Abasi logos, a rosewood bridge with a bone saddle, and a bone nut.
Abasi Stage 7 guitars feature the Córdoba Stage Pickup System co-developed with Fishman®. Combining an under-saddle transducer with internal body sensors, it produces an authentic nylon-string tone with exceptional balance while eliminating the “quack” typically associated with piezo pickups. A professional-quality preamp with side-mounted Volume, EQ, and Body Blend controls provides even more precise tone shaping.
