Guild Guitars Debuts the VR1 F-40 Au Naturel Jumbo Acoustic; First In the Ventura Reserve Series of Ultra-Premium Guitars

CALABASAS, Calif. January 22, 2026 — Guild® Guitars today introduced the VR1 F-40 jumbo acoustic guitar, the initial offering in the Guild Ventura Reserve series of master-grade instruments built in Ventura, California.

“Our new Ventura Reserve series represents the pinnacle of Guild lutherie artistry, and the VR1 F-40 Au Naturel is one of the finest guitars we have ever produced,” said Nick Beach, Product Manager, Fretted Instruments. “It is meticulously handcrafted from extremely rare tonewoods that Guild aged and seasoned for decades—so rare, in fact, that we only had enough wood to build 20 of these extraordinary instruments.”
The VR1 F-40 Au Naturel boasts a 5A Adirondack spruce top, 5A flame maple back and sides, a mahogany neck with a stylish walnut center strip, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard. Combined with the jumbo body size, this blend of woods produces a room-filling yet highly nuanced and beautifully balanced sound. A Natural gloss nitro finish highlights the gorgeous grain and figuring of the woods.

Further distinguishing the VR1 F-40 Au Naturel are its elegant trim and other fine appointments. These include flame maple binding on the body, fingerboard, and headstock; an Indian rosewood headstock overlay with mother-of-pearl Guild Peak logo and G shield inlays; a flame maple truss rod cover; an Artisan Guitar Creations ThinWood rosewood pickguard; an Indian rosewood bridge with Waverly snakewood bridge pins; and Waverly tuners with snakewood buttons.

VR1 F-40 Au Naturel guitars come with a hand-signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity and a HumiCase® Ventura Reserve hardshell case.
