Along with many of the world’s leading professional drummers and drum industry executives, more than two dozen of today’s top amateur drummers will be featured when the 2017 Hit Like A Girl Contest champions and award recipients are announced on the Hit Like A Girl awards show— webcast live Tuesday, April 18 at 5:00PM PDT exclusively on www.drumchannel.com. The show will include interviews and live performances by past champions, celebrities and special guests such as Kim Thompson, Mona Tavakoli, Emmanuelle Caplette, Helen De La Rosa and others (pending availability).

Hit Like A Girl is a global contest for female drummers with contestants in the under and 18 age divisions competing for the championship title as well as more than $20,000 in prizes. This year, HLAG entries are eligible in Drumset, World, Concert and Marching percussion categories. A number of Special Award, Performance Opportunity, Scholarship and Grant winners will also be announced during the show, including the recipient of the first annual Joe Hibbs award given to this year’s hardest working, most dedicated player.
