Bob Moog Foundation Celebrates Birthday With Limited Edition DrBobQuotes Posters

Asheville, NC—The Bob Moog Foundation is celebrating Bob Moog's 84th birthday today with the release of three limited-edition posters featuring quotes from the synthesizer pioneer. The 11" x 17" posters are $15 each or the set of three for $40. Only 150 of each poster will be printed, making this a rare opportunity for collectors. They can be purchased exclusively through the Foundation's online store.

The quotes featured include Moog's thoughts about the genesis of ideas, the transmission of information from pianist to piano, and about the design of the theremin:

"It would be egotistical of me to say my ideas were my own. I believe that there is a network of ideas, and the ideas come through me."

"When a pianist sits down and does a virtuoso performance, he is, in a technical sense, transmitting more information to a machine than any other human activity involving machinery involves."

"Leon Theremin's original designs are elegant, ingenious, and effective. It's like a great sonnet, a painting, or a speech that is perfectly done on more than one level."

"We chose to release this set of DrBobQuotes posters in honor of my father's birthday as they lend personal insight into who he was, how he thought, and what he valued," remarked Michelle Moog-Koussa, Executive Director of the foundation. "Our intention is to celebrate his spirit while inspiring people to think expansively."

Each poster features a different archival image of Bob Moog, as well as his signature.
