Scottsdale, Ariz. (Jan. 24, 2019) – EVH® proudly introduces the new Wolfgang® WG Standard Xotic models featuring exotic woods, as well as new color additions for the Wolfgang® WG Standard QM and Wolfgang® Special.
Wrapped in a Midnight Sunset finish, the new Wolfgang WG Standard Xotic features a basswood body with special “comfort cut” forearm and a unique poplar burl top, while the Wolfgang WG Standard Xotic Ziricote features a bold ziricote top over its basswood body and is available in a Natural finish.

Both models feature attractive masked-off natural body binding, one-piece bolt-on baked maple neck with graphite reinforcement rods and hand-rubbed oil back finish and a smooth baked maple fingerboard with 12”-16” compound radius.
Dual EVH Wolfgang humbucking pickups mounted directly to the body of these high-performance axes increase resonance transfer, resulting in robust and long-lasting sustain, while the EVH-branded Floyd Rose® Special bridge and R2 locking nut keep the instrument in tune through the deepest whammy dives. Two dome control knobs have been dialed-in to Van Halen’s exact specifications — the smooth-feeling 500k pots make it easy to find a unique sound while retaining the crisp high-end sparkle of the Wolfgang pickups.
Featuring an all-new Mango Burst or Tri Fade finish with a black headstock and black chrome hardware, the Wolfgang WG Standard QM features a basswood body with special “comfort cut” forearm contour for maximum playing ease, along with attractive masked-off natural body binding and an elegant quilt maple top.

Designed for comfortable playability and speed, the Wolfgang WG Standard QM also has a graphite-reinforced bolt-on maple neck with an oiled back finish and a 12”-16” compound radius maple fingerboard with rolled edges, 22 jumbo frets and black dot inlays.
Like all Wolfgang WG Standard models, these axes feature dual EVH Wolfgang humbucking pickups, EVH-branded Floyd Rose® Special bridge, R2 locking nut and two dome control knobs dialed-in to Van Halen’s exacting specifications.
The Wolfgang® Special is now offered in a new Primer Gray finish with matching headstock, black body binding and an ebony fingerboard, or in new Metallic Blue or Polar White finishes with a matching headstock and maple fingerboard. The Metallic Blue model features single-ply cream body binding, while the Polar White guitar features single-ply black body binding.

All Wolfgang Special models feature an arched top and a robust graphite-reinforced bolt-on quartersawn maple neck. The carved neck is rolled to Eddie Van Halen’s exacting specs and features a hand-rubbed urethane back finish and a 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets and dot inlays.
A pair of custom designed EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking pickups mounted directly to the body give these axes a dynamic, articulate voice, as well as endless sustain for powerful chords and melody lines.
The EVH-branded Floyd Rose® locking trem and Floyd Rose locking nut work in tandem for precise tuning, while the EVH D-Tuna® retunes to drop-D and back with strict accuracy at the flick of a finger, with a low-friction volume control for smooth swells and a high-friction tone control that prevents accidental tone shifting.
