About the Band

Dada's origins trace back to the late '80s when guitarist Michael Gurley and bassist Joie Calio began crafting songs and performing as an acoustic duo. With the addition of drummer Phil Leavitt, they fused the dynamic force of trios like Cream with the sophisticated, harmony-driven songwriting reminiscent of Simon & Garfunkel. Their debut album, Puzzle, hit the shelves on September 8, 1992, featuring the chart-topping single "Dizz Knee Land," which garnered extensive radio play, propelling album sales to over 1,000,000 worldwide. Subsequently, the band found themselves supporting acts such as Crowded House, Depeche Mode and Sting. In 1994, they unveiled their sophomore effort, American Highway Flower, showcasing ambitious tracks like "Ask the Dust" and the awe-inspiring "Feet to the Sun." Over the years, Dada has amassed a remarkable discography, including half a dozen full-length albums and an EP.
