Many years ago, a kid told his friends at school his dream was to make the best bass amp in the World one day. That kid was the co-founder and Technical Director of EBS, Mats Kristoffersson. At the same time, another youngster, the EBS CEO Bo Engberg, walked around Stockholm, Sweden, with similar dreams. The two found each other and eventually started EBS Professional Bass Equipment in 1988.
30 years later, Bo and Mats are still running EBS from the headquarters in suburbian Stockholm, together with a dedicated team.
The company have seen other’s come and go over the years while slowly building up EBS to become a solid brand and full service provider of Professional Bass Equipment. The range covers everything from small accessories like the highly successful EBS flat patch cables, to pedals like the legendary MultiComp and OctaBass (as well as signature models with Billy Sheehan and Stanley Clarke), to amps, cabinets and combos in all sizes - all designed and developed entirely by the EBS team.
For anyone interested to learn more about the remarkable story, a new book “EBS 30 Years - Don’t Play Without It!” will be launched at NAMM, and available from the EBS webshop after the show. The book is written by Ralf Bjurbo, Marketing & Artist Relations manager at EBS since 13 years and edited by acclaimed author of several music autobiographies, Joel McIver. It contains the story of EBS, richly illustrated with exclusive photos and artist portraits.
The book will be available to the public here (published after NAMM): http://ebssweden.tictail.com/
