Crafted in the French audio brand’s workshops, the new addition is a high-resolution tool for in-studio production or creating music on the move. The closed-back design, meticulous ergonomics, and exclusive aluminum/magnesium drivers make Lensys Pro the perfect headphones for working on music and audio anywhere. They join the Clear Mg Professional ($1499.) and Listen Professional ($299.) in the Focal Professional headphones collection. Lensys Professional has a US-suggested retail price of $699. and are available to order at retailers in the US and Canada starting October 8th. The Research & Development team at Focal worked diligently to create a headphone that provides accuracy while guaranteeing comfort and isolation to ensure portability without compromising the monitoring experience. Lensys Pro achieves this by utilizing some of Focal’s outstanding innovative technologies.
Patented Speaker Drivers and Focal Experience
Focal engineers chose a 1-5/8" (40mm) aluminum/magnesium electrodynamic driver with an ‘M’-shaped dome, a unique innovation offering incredibly precise sound reproduction. Aluminum is used to increase the driver’s rigidity and greatly reduce distortion, while magnesium helps to ensure excellent damping. With this combination of materials, the driver delivers deep bass, accurate high frequencies, and crystal-clear midrange — all carefully tuned for the audio professional. The ‘M’ shaped dome achieves exceptional rigidity creating a linear frequency response and improved sound dispersion. The drivers are angled toward the ears within the earcups to enhance stereo imaging, and the optimized acoustic load at the back of the drivers delivers excellent low-end extension.
Comfort and Isolation
Focal focused on controlling and ensuring proper sound reproduction specifically for pro audio applications in the new headphones. Each component of the Lensys Pro — from the cushion depth to the thickness and type of materials enveloping the drivers, to the composite material of the driver itself — is optimized to contribute to the overall performance and sound quality. Designed for lengthy production sessions, Lensys Pro are lightweight, at 10.8oz (306g), and feature memory foam earpads, providing a comfortable fit and excellent sound isolation from external noise. As flexible as it is solid, the headband is covered with a breathable fabric for extra comfort.
