Limited to just 96 pieces worldwide
(STEVENSVILLE, Md.) April 21, 2026 – PRS Guitars today announced the Private Stock 30th Anniversary “Birds of a Feather” Hollowbody I Limited Edition. This ultra limited edition celebrates three decades of Private Stock craftsmanship, representing the intersection of luthiery and artistic vision. A nod to the year of the Private Stock program’s founding, only 96 pieces will be made.
The model also marks the 10th anniversary of the Birds of a Feather fretboard inlay, designed by Director of Manufacturing and head of Private Stock, Paul Miles. It features a reverse Birds of a Feather with stained maple birds rising from the base of the fingerboard into an ebony sky.
“I wanted to design an inlay that was simple and easy to read from across the room or on a stage but was also uniquely PRS. I have always been fascinated with inlay work and PRS has afforded me the opportunity to see the evolution from hand cut shell to intricate CNC work. For me, this was a new way of looking at inlay design, using the woods to create movement and space,” said Paul Miles, PRS Guitars Director of Manufacturing.
The Private Stock 30th Anniversary “Birds of a Feather” Hollowbody I Limited Edition introduces a notable first: PRS TCI pickups in a Hollowbody platform. Carefully tuned for musical balance and clarity, TCI pickups deliver the fullness of humbuckers while capturing the expressive character often associated with single-coil and soapbar designs. The guitar’s Hollowbody I construction adds natural resonance and openness. Further expanding the instrument’s tonal range are mini-toggle EQ switches – a feature personally favored by Paul Reed Smith. When engaged, these switches act as tuned high-pass filters, removing shelved low-end and allowing high frequencies through for enhanced clarity and musical highs.
Available exclusively in Frostbite Glow, the finish unifies the instrument’s design, highlighting the contrast between Gaboon ebony’s rich, dark color and the natural tones of flame maple. The Frostbite stain extends to the figured maple found on the fretboard and neck, while the woods appear throughout the instrument, extending to details such as the truss rod cover and headstock veneer. Rounding out the highlights of this model is a Private Stock Birds of a Feather Eagle on the headstock.
