SAN DIMAS, CA — Winzz Guitars announces the launch of the Lead Burner, a compact guitar amplifier designed for stage, studio, and home environments. Inspired by the British high gain of the ‘80’s, the Lead Burner is built for players who require tonal flexibility, the Lead Burner incorporates IR (Impulse Response) technology to digitally recreate the acoustic characteristics of real guitar cabinets. With nine factory-installed IRs, two user-loadable slots, extensive tone-shaping controls, and modern connectivity, the Lead Burner offers a portable yet highly adaptable solution for a wide range of musical applications. Driven by a dual 12AX7 (JJ) tube preamp section, the Lead Burner delivers 30 watts of solid-state power for reliable performance under the most demanding live environments.
The Lead Burner is a the result of a design collaboration between Winzz’s designer, Marty Zheng and longtime industry electronics designer and professional musician Terry Buddingh. The focus of Lead Burner’s front panel is its IR section, beginning with the IR LEVEL control, which adjusts the overall IR output. The IR SELECTOR provides eleven total positions, including nine pre-installed IRs representing a variety of classic and modern cabinet types, as well as two empty positions reserved for loading user-created files. These positions reflect distinct characteristics inspired by iconic brands such as Fender®, VOX®, Marshall®, Orange®, Peavey®, and Mesa Boogie® in a variety of combo and head and cabinet configurations.
A full passive EQ system follows, including PRESENCE, BASS, MID and TREBLE, enabling detailed control over the amplifier’s frequency response. MASTER and PRE-AMP controls manage overall output level and preamp gain. Additional switches provide further refinement: the CLIP switch changes clipping behavior and compression characteristics; the PUNCH/FAT switch adjusts low- and mid-frequency emphasis and overall dynamic performance; the STRUCTURE switch shifts the preamp’s gain, equalization and distortion characteristics; the TIGHT switch reduces low frequencies for a more focused attack; and the BRIGHT switch increases upper-range clarity. For moments requiring more drive or tonal shaping, the Lead Burner includes an onboard BOOST with adjustable BOOST BASS, BOOST TREBLE and BOOST LEVEL, all activated with the BOOST ON/OFF switch. Both HI-INPUT and LOW-INPUT jacks are also provided to accommodate instruments with different output levels.
The rear panel of the Lead Burner expands its versatility for recording, monitoring and live use. An IR XLR balanced output allows direct connection to mixers, audio interfaces, or front of house systems, while an unbalanced IR LINE OUT supports monitors or the high-Z inputs of PA systems. The IR LOADER port uses a Type-C connection for importing IR files from a computer, and a dedicated headphone output provides an IR-processed signal for silent practice. An AUX IN is available for audio playback. A separate LINE OUT without speaker simulation supports external power amps or additional IR loaders.
The FX Loop includes SEND and RETURN jacks along with a level switch offering +12 dB or –12 dB to match various effects units. A speaker output supports cabinets with a minimum impedance of 4 ohms. The rear panel also includes the main power connector, fuse specifications and a standard rocker POWER switch.
Uploading personal IR files is easy. When connected to a computer via Type-C cable, the Lead Burner appears as a USB drive, allowing IR files to be imported through a simple drag-and-drop process. Files must be 24-bit, 44.1 kHz mono WAV format. Users can also replace existing files.
Measuring in at only 24 cm x 14 cm x 14 cm and weighing 3.5 kilograms, this compact amplifier balances analog feel with modern IR technology, reflecting Winzz Guitars’ commitment to offering practical, flexible and high-quality tools for today’s players at any stage of their guitar playing journey.
