As Sheryl Crow says, “I’m thrilled to document this show on film together with my incredible band at the historic Capitol Theatre on my last stop of the 2017 tour.”
As Barry Summers says,I’m thrilled to be working with Sheryl Crow, producing her new film and live album that we're filming at the historic Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY. There seems to be a surge of a younger generation of fans that are discovering her amazing music and extensive repertoire of songs. We wanted to capture her outstanding band on film in 4K UHD for cinema, TV Broadcast, DVD. Blu-Ray, CD and Vinyl release for Sheryl’s fans to enjoy for many years.”
For this very special concert event, fans will be treated to many of Sheryl Crow’s classic hits from throughout her illustrious career, including “All I Wanna Do,” "If It Makes You Happy," "My Favorite Mistake," "Soak up the Sun,” and "The First Cut is the Deepest," as well as new songs from Be Myself including the title track, “Halfway There” and “Long Way Back.”
Having sold over 35 million albums worldwide, Sheryl Crow is one of the most respected and influential female music artists of the past 30 years. She’s among the most awarded and internationally acclaimed American Treasures in modern music.
For her latest Be Myself album, Crow was inspired to go back and listen to her earlier music to see what struck fans as being so authentic about her writing. “But it wasn’t about repeating myself,” she says. “It was about revisiting where I came from and seeing where that would take me now.” Crow added that Be Myself is especially topical. “Because of what was going on in the world and particularly in the United States; I began to feel a sense of urgency about writing.”
Of her recent live shows, the New York Daily News hailed, “If it makes you happy, Sheryl Crow is down to play her hits all night long. A rapt audience was reminded just how many massive hit singles she has in her back catalog...This was no nostalgia trip. It was a reminder that Sheryl Crow’s never left and she’s here to stay.” And Los Angeles Times praised, ““Sheryl Crow is allowing the pendulum to swing back toward the rock-rooted sound and attitude with which she first found success nearly a quarter-century ago.”
