Ibanez Announces BTB Premium, EHB Short Scale, SR Premium and SR600E Series among 2021 Bass Lineup

Bensalem, PA – January 1, 2021: New for 2021, Ibanez announces a massive expansion to their already impressive collection of Bass Guitars.

Ibanez Unveils New BTB Premium Basses for 2021

Ibanez has introduced their new BTB Premium models for 2021. There are four new models joining the collection, the BTB1835, BTB1836, BTB1905LW, and BTB1906LW. The BTB1835 & BTB1836 feature a 9pc Maple/Bubinga/Panga Panga neck-through design with a Bubinga top over Ash body wings. Other features include medium stainless steel frets, a bound Panga Panga fretboard, and Aguilar DCB pickups paired with an Ibanez custom 3-band EQ. The BTB1905LW & BTB1906LW are limited-run BTB Premium models. The overall specs are similar to the BTB1835 & BTB1836 with three exceptions. Theses basses feature a special figured Lacewood top over Mahogany body wings and a 7pc Panga Panga/Purpleheart neck also featuring neck through construction. These changes combine for a big visual and tonal impact delivering a uniquely custom-built appearance with a distinctive boutique-inspired vibe.

Ibanez Introduces New EHB Short Scale Basses

The Ibanez EHB series has enjoyed immense success since its introduction last year and capitalizing off that momentum, Ibanez is introducing two new short scale EHB designs, the EHB1000S and the EHB1005SMS. The EHB1000S is equipped with all of the same features as the EHB1000, but utilizing a 30” scale length. The EHB1005SMS is largely similar but features multiscale construction. The scale length is 30” on the g string and 32” on the B string. These basses also feature contoured, ergonomic designs and chambered bodies that make for a lightweight, well-balanced, and comfortable playing experience; excellent for long sets or practice sessions. There is an extended relief cut on the back of the body behind the lower horn for easier upper fret access. Also, the top half of the back of the body is slanted which allows the bass to rest slightly closer to the player’s body for better control and a more ergonomic feel.

Ibanez Unveils Fresh SR Premium Designs for 2021

Ibanez has announced a number of fresh SR Premium models for 2021. The SR4CMLTD & SR5CMLTD are a special, limited models featuring a Walnut body with a Curley Maple/ Ash top. Its 5-piece neck is made of Panga Panga and Purpleheart and is topped with a bound Panga/Panga fretboard. Nordstrand® Big Single pickups with special wood covers supply power, volume, and clarity that when paired with the Ibanez Custom 3-band EQ, offers plenty of tonal versatility. The additional new models bring a variety of new finishes and wood combinations, injecting enticing new aesthetics into this already popular line of basses. The SR1605W supplies a unique benefit in that it features 18mm string spacing, 1.5mm wider that our typical 5-string SR spacing. This modification delivers a more familiar feel to players who prefer wider spacing for certain techniques and a playing styles. Additionally, the SR1300SB series features the brand new, Ibanez exclusive, Nordstrand® Big Break™ pickups. This design crams a powerful, offset split coil pickup into a soapbar-style pickup, producing a full-bodied, powerful, aggressive tonal texture, while still retaining the clarity that's characteristic of single coil tone with noiseless performance.

Ibanez Introduces New SR600E Series

New for 2021, Ibanez is enhancing the performance of their SR standard line with the introduction of the SR600E series. This new line consists of three models, a 4, 5, and 6-string variant. The core of these instruments are an Ash body, Jatoba/Walnut Neck, and for the first time in several years, a Rosewood fingerboard. The Ash delivers an enveloping and powerful tonal foundation, while the neck woods and Rosewood fingerboard provided added tonal focus and note definition. Other familiar features include the B500 series bridge and the Ibanez Custom 3-Band EQ. A new and defining feature of the SR600E series is the choice of pickups. The new, Nordstrand™ Big Break pickups cram a powerful offset, split coil into a soapbar-style pickup, producing a full-bodied, powerful, aggressive tonal texture, while still retaining the clarity that's characteristic of single coil tone with noiseless performance.
