TAMPA, FL — Luna Guitars unveils the Vista Deer Cajon featuring a beautiful scene and high-level craftsmanship. Combining fine art and the art of advanced instrument-building, this latest addition to Luna’s Vista Series delivers high-level craftsmanship and rich, warm sound from a blend of attractive tonewoods. With the Vista Deer Cajon, players gain the natural freedom of self expression and making an impression on and off the stage.
CEO Evan Rubinson added, "The Cajon has been a staple of Latin American music and has risen in popularity across multiple genres in recent years thanks to its lightweight portability, as well as its versatility in musical accompaniment. The cajon offers players freedom of expression in how hard they play, the angles of their palm hits versus finger taps, and their choice of turning the snare on or off. The Vista Deer Cajon captures this creative freedom in both its craftsmanship and the panoramic image of a beautiful natural scene."
On the Vista Deer Cajon, each front piece is handmade from a combination of tonewoods, including padauk, blackwood, spalted maple, quilted mahogany, and koa. The moon shines with mother of pearl, while teal abalone creates a glistening stream for the two deer depicted. The back and sides are made from birch and finished in mahogany, with a strong mahogany top to seat the player.
Using the Vista Deer Cajon’s built-in snare, drummers can control the beat of the music and alter the rhythm at any pace. The snare can be quickly turned off with a twist of the easily accessible knob, making the cajon sound more hollow and thuddier when needed. Measuring 12 by 12 inches at the base, and 19 inches high, the Vista Deer Cajon is sized to project sound well, while still being lightweight and portable for road travel.
Each Vista cajon comes with Luna’s Vista branded gigbag that’s padded and comes with a soft foam pad for comfort when sitting for extended periods of time. With Luna’s Vista Deer Cajon, players can enjoy a fine percussion instrument that’s as aesthetically pleasing as it is sonically compelling. MSRP $299
