CorOS 3.3.0 and Cortex Control 1.4.0 updates introduce Neural Capture V2, 29 new virtual devices, 669 new V2 Captures across 41 devices, and highly requested workflow enhancements for Quad Cortex users.
NanOS 2.2.0 brings Neural Capture V2 support, a new Tremolo effect, summed outputs, cloud backups, and other highly requested improvements for Nano Cortex users.
HELSINKI, FINLAND, November 26, 2025 — Neural DSP announced the release of two major platform updates: CorOS 3.3.0 for Quad Cortex and NanOS 2.2.0 for Nano Cortex. Together these releases introduce Neural Capture Version 2, one of the largest virtual device expansions in the company’s history, hundreds of next-generation V2 Captures, substantial workflow improvements, and key new features for both hardware platforms.
“Neural Capture V2 represents a generational leap in modeling technology and unifies the next stage of innovation across both Quad Cortex and Nano Cortex,” said Francisco Cresp, Neural DSP CPO and Co-Founder. “With new virtual devices, V2 Captures, expanded creative tools, and meaningful workflow enhancements, these updates deliver more realism, more capability, and a better experience for every musician.”
CorOS 3.3.0 and Cortex Control 1.4.0
CorOS 3.3.0 is one of the largest updates ever released for Quad Cortex, centered on Neural Capture Version 2, a next-generation capture technology trained via Cortex Cloud for significantly higher resolution and expressive accuracy. V2 delivers:
- Higher-resolution modeling and greater dynamic accuracy
- Enhanced realism for complex, touch-sensitive devices such as fuzz pedals, compressors, and responsive amplifiers
- Improved tracking of expressive behaviors, including dynamic cleanup, sag, bloom, and transient response
- More precise control modeling, including blend knobs and other nuanced parameters
Because V2 processing occurs in the cloud, it requires an internet connection and is created through Cortex Control. Users can select either V1 or V2 when starting a new Capture. V1 remains fast and fully offline, ideal for most amps, cabs, and overdrives, while V2 delivers maximum fidelity for the most dynamic gear.
To demonstrate V2 capability, CorOS 3.3.0 introduces 669 new V2 Captures across 41 device types including 17 amplifiers, 2 combo amps, 4 compressors, 11 fuzz pedals, and 7 overdrives. CorOS 3.3.0 also adds 29 new virtual devices, one of the largest collections ever released for Quad Cortex, including:
- Dumbbell ODS (Dumble® Overdrive Special®) – a highly sought-after 1992 model featuring a “Low-plate Skyliner non-HRM” configuration
- 17 new cabinets based on Two Rock®, Ampeg®, Mesa®, Marshall®, Zilla®, and Fender®
- Mono Synth, a free, expanded version of the Overlord Synth from Archetype: Rabea X
- Micro Pitch, Pattern Tremolo, Morph Engines, 1981 Inventions® DRV®, Aguilar® Octamizer®, Spring Reverb engines, Auto Wah, and more
CorOS 3.3.0 also includes a wide range of fixes and stability improvements. These address issues with subfolder visibility, Scene behaviors in the Fortin Nameless amp, audio behavior in parallel paths, cloud backup timeouts, and several UI crashes related to Neural Capture workflows, Gig View, and Tuner/Tempo menus. Additional fixes improve MIDI responsiveness, metronome pan recall, Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, Looper X behavior, and file visibility in the Downloads folder, along with various other refinements to overall performance.
Cortex Control 1.4.0 adds full support for Neural Capture V2 and introduces:
- A new I/O Settings shortcut
- Reorganized factory subfolders for V1 and V2 Captures
- Refreshed Device Storage menu for clearer asset visibility
- Real-time CPU previews while placing devices on The Grid
- Integrated Quad Cortex online manual for improved documentation access
NanOS 2.2.0 brings Neural Capture V2 Player functionality to Nano Cortex, along with several highly requested features and usability upgrades. Nano Cortex can now load and play V2 Captures created on Quad Cortex. V2 creation is currently limited to Quad Cortex, with support for Nano Cortex creation under development. NanOS 2.2.0 users will also be able to access the new 669 V2 Captures across 41 device types on the official Neural DSP Cortex Cloud profile. NanOS 2.2.0 also introduces:
- Tremolo, available in Post Effects Slot 1
- Automatic Sum to Mono, summing all outputs when using a single cable
- Offline Cortex Cloud mode, enabling device settings access without an internet connection
- Capture auditioning directly in Cortex Cloud
- Cloud backups, supporting up to five stored backups
- Preset rearranging via drag and drop in Cortex Cloud
NanOS 2.2.0 adds a range of stability improvements. It resolves issues that caused audio output to mute after downloading Captures, removes audible pops when switching between them, and improves the reliability of saving and loading new Captures. The update also fixes IR list scrolling in Cortex Cloud, corrects expression pedal parameter behavior, and ensures footswitches respond properly after receiving MIDI commands.
“We built Quad Cortex and Nano Cortex to be platforms that grow exponentially with every update, and these new releases demonstrate that philosophy in action,” said Douglas Castro, Neural DSP CEO and Co-Founder. “CorOS 3.3.0 and NanOS 2.2.0 deliver major technology advances while refining the everyday workflows musicians depend on. The result is simple. More realism. More capability. More time spent creating.”
