Ibanez to Release Fantastic New Signature and Limited Models

Bensalem, PA – New for 2023, Ibanez unveils four special, limited-edition signature models at NAMM 2023.

PIA77BON

The new PIA77BON is a limited-edition Steve Vai signature model from Ibanez, commemorating 35 years of partnership between Steve Vai and Ibanez. The PIA77BON features a striking hydro-dipped multicolor swirl finish, which is the product of a newly developed process not ever used before on an Ibanez production model. Steve personally selected the palette of colors and swirl patterns featured in this new finish. His choices were inspired by his swirled Ibanez JEM and UV models of the past, while also wanting to create something both fresh and new. Steve has dubbed this new finish “Brilliance of Now (BON)”. The PIA77BON is the first PIA model to feature a swirled finish, making this anniversary model an extra special addition Steve’s line of Ibanez signature models.

To commemorate this very special anniversary, Joe and Ibanez have collaborated once again to release the new Ibanez JS3CR. The JS3CR takes inspiration from the entire legacy of the JS line, and its specs illustrate Joe’s desire to create a new model that both nods to the past while also embracing new innovations. It features the classic 22-fret JS neck of the original JS models, along with return of the two full-sized humbucker pickup configuration. The Ibanez JS3CR also features the return of a basswood body in the chrome-finished JS lineup. The DiMarzio Satchur8 bridge and PAF Pro neck pickup combination was carefully chosen by Joe in order to offer the best tonal combination with the JS3CR’s basswood body. The combination of specs and aesthetics help the JS3CR become the modern day successor to one of Joe’s most beloved and recognized guitars, his JS “Chrome Boy”.

JS1BKP

Over the last few years, Ibanez signature artist Joe Satriani has become very inspired and intrigued by the history and visual aesthetic of what is commonly known in the west as the “Paisley” pattern. Working from this inspiration, Joe created a design for a Paisley JS, featuring original hand-drawn paisley pattern elements while experimenting with the scale and size of the elements themselves. This combination creates something that looks both original, yet still familiar. Joe commissioned the Ibanez Los Angeles Custom Shop to create the guitar, who were able to make Joe’s design into a reality. Since then, the custom JS Paisley has recently become a staple of Joe’s touring guitar lineup, and Joe has used it live all around the world. Working together with Joe, Ibanez has been able to turn Joe’s custom one-off guitar into a limited-edition production model, the Ibanez JS1BKP. Joe is particularly pleased by how this new guitar has turned out, and both he and Ibanez are extremely excited to be able to offer this new model to the public.

To celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Ibanez PS10, the original signature model for the celebrated front man of the legendary rock band KISS and Ibanez Signature Artist Paul Stanley, Ibanez and Paul have teamed up once again for the release of a special limited-edition anniversary model, the PS3CM. Using pieces of black mirror acrylic, Ibanez have painstakingly recreated the look of Paul’s classic “cracked mirror” PS, but with an added visual twist. The black acrylic pieces of shattered mirror help give this model the appearance of a “cracked” PS10. Each piece of black mirror acrylic has been cut to be an exact match to its corresponding piece on Paul’s original Cracked Mirror PS, and affixed to the guitar at the very same angle. Both Paul and Ibanez are very proud to offer the new limited-edition Ibanez PS3CM as the latest addition to the storied lineage of the Ibanez PS.

After requesting one to test out, Martin really liked the features such as the Seymour Duncan Fortuna pickups, non-recessed bridge, and compound radius fretboard. ICHI00

Internet guitar Phenom Ichika and Ibanez released his first signature model last year, and the Q-based ICHI10 has gone on to become one of the more popular Ibanez signature models. The concept for his latest signature was to develop an instrument based on one of Ichika’s favorite guitars, one that he has also been closely associated with, the Ibanez Talman. The new instrument is based on the TM1730, but with a few modern updates including a roasted maple neck and original ICHI-S single coil pickups. Another factor that was extremely important to Ichika was the instrument’s price point. He was adamant in wanting to make it accessible for his fans, so he worked closely with Ibanez to make the guitar as affordable as possible.
