WASHBURN DEBUTS IMPORT MODEL MICHAEL SWEET SIGNATURE PARALLAXE V GUITAR AT SUMMER NAMM 2018!

Legendary rock icon Michael Sweet’s trademark black and yellow V guitar gets original 1980s paintjob and Sweet’s preferred electronics for 2018.

Nashville, Tennessee, June 28, 2018 — Kicking off Summer NAMM 2018 on the right chord, Washburn today introduced a new import model of its black and yellow Michael Sweet Signature Parallaxe V electric guitar, giving metal rockers access to Sweet’s distinct sound, style and preferred components. The new model, PXV-MS260FRK-D — offering guitarists a unique, attractive, and truly professional level instrument — is on display at Booth #1342 in Nashville’s Music City Center.

According to Michael Sweet, “I was playing these guitars tracking for the new Stryper album, so yes, I really use my own guitars! It’s got the Seymour Duncan Design Blackouts, which are what I use, and they sound fantastic. If my name wasn’t on this guitar, I would still rave about it. It’s fantastic, and it sounds and feels and plays like a much more expensive guitar.”

Available for immediate delivery to dealers, the new model features the exact paintjob Sweet played with in the mid 1980s, including the yellow fretboard inlays, stripes across the black body and three 7s painted on the back. It features a redesigned mahogany body with a slightly shorter bottom edge, ebony fingerboard and maple neck, a Floyd Rose bridge with 34mm brass block and spring silencers, Duncan Designed Blackout pickups and the Buzz Feiten tuning system. The guitar is available at a MSRP of $1,783.90 (MAP $999.00).

“World-leading guitarists like Michael Sweet have an appreciation and affection for the best instruments and performance tools,” Washburn Vice President & General Manager Gil Soucy said today. “After decades of touring and recording, the Washburn Parallaxe V is forever married to Sweet’s incredible career, and the new affordably priced 2018 model lets guitarists rock to their heart’s content with a professional guitar featuring Michael Sweet’s signature colors and style.”

This is the latest addition to Washburn’s Parallaxe V line, which Michael Sweet used in 2016 for Stryper’s “To hell with the Devil” 30th anniversary tour.
