ADDAC System Announces ADDAC809 Chain Router

Dynamic, CV-operated I/O router allows sources to be routed through two different signal chains — with no re-patching

Lisbon, Portugal, June 16, 2022 — ADDAC System announces its latest module for Eurorack modular systems: the ADDAC809 Chain Router. Consuming just 6HP of rack space, the Chain Router delivers a significant degree of signal routing control, enabling users to change signal flow at the push of a button.

Using CV control, ADDAC809 enables one source (audio or CV) to be routed through two different chains (of one or more modules) before being sent to an output. With its I/O scheme, a total of six routing options are possible, making this a very powerful utility module in even the most complex racks.

A practical application example would be having an audio source, a delay and a looper. Some performers may prefer having the delay placed after the looper for a more traditional slapback effect, but others may prefer to have the delay precede the looper so as to sample the audio with the delay, or sample the pure audio source (and apply delay afterwards). The ADDAC809 Chain Router both options — enabling users to change the signal flow at the push of a button with no re-patching.

Users can address the six routing patterns in two different ways —  using dedicated buttons on the front panel of the module, or through a CV signal input. The buttons enable a user to latch between two routing states, or bypass altogether. Meantime, the dedicated CV input (which expects a 0 to +5v input) allows users to jump to a precise routing pattern using a specific voltage interval (in increments of approximately 0.83v).
The ADDAC809 Chain Router is priced at €160 and will be available next month through the ADDAC website or through ADDAC System's network of authorized dealers. For more details and specifications, please download the manual or visit the ADDAC System website.
