Baton Rouge, LA - September 30, 2025 - United Studio Technologies proudly announces the release of the UT Tube67, a large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone that revives one of the most sought-after mic designs in history. Known for silky, velvety tone and smooth top end, the UT Tube67 captures the spirit of the original while refining it for today’s studios
“Classic mics like the ’67 are not just pieces of gear — they’re part of the DNA of recorded music,” said Cave Daughdrill, United Studio Technologies co-founder. “We wanted to bring that same magic back in a way that’s accessible and reliable, without losing any of the character that made the originals iconic.”
A True Vintage Experience, Reimagined
At the heart of the UT Tube67 is a NOS EF86 pentode vacuum tube, delivering the warm, intimate quality that has made vintage microphones of this type indispensable for vocals and acoustic sources. Its linear response across polar patterns ensures flexibility, excelling on strings, woodwinds, brass, piano, drums, and both acoustic and electric guitars. A switchable AIR MOD provides added tonal versatility, drawing from classic recordists’ preferred settings.
Custom Components for Authentic Tone
• UT K67 Capsule: An historically correct, dual backplate capsule, 24k gold-sputtered on 6-micron Mylar, optimized for operating voltage and tuned to vintage specifications. The result is a smooth, natural sound free from the harsh resonance found in other contemporary takes on the ’67 style.
• UT-BV12 Transformer: Custom-wound in the U.S. with high-nickel alloy laminations and a copper Faraday shield. Modeled on a golden reference specimen, it delivers the same legendary tight bass response while minimizing noise and interference.
• Premium Build Quality: From a custom Sommer Octave 7-pin cable to a regulated power supply, every detail has been carefully engineered. Final testing and packing take place in the USA at United Studio Technologies’ HQ.
More Than a Microphone
The UT Tube67 is more than a reproduction — it’s a personal homage to a classic. By combining uncompromising design with boutique-quality components, United Studio Technologies has created a mic that delivers timeless character engineers love with the reliability professionals demand.
